Great Seal of the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Canada

Patron Saint Feast of the Parish
The Great Seal
The Seal was created in the year the Diocese was formed 2017, and has as protectors The Mother of God (in the centre) who is the Mother of all people, Saint Andrew, the first called of the Apostles (on the left side) and Saint John Casian, a missionary who left the area of Romania today and travelled to France bringing the faith and died there in the year 435 AD (on the right side).
The centre piece has all the symbols of a diocese, a bishop’s mitre, staff and cross.
The Patron Feast Icon of the Parish
The Falling Asleep of the Virgin Mary, celebrated on August 15, was chosen as Feast Day of the Parish at the first blessing in 1905. In 1936, a secondary Feast Day, that is of The Great Martyr Demetrus the Myrrh-streamer celebrated on October 26 was added.
